Welcome to the Coro Alpino Lumignano web-site! The "Coro Alpino Lumignano" (Alpine Choir of Lumignano - Italy) is a male choir born in 1978 for will of the local "Gruppo Alpini Lumignano" a group of demobilized Alpine Troups, related to the National Alpine Troups Association (ANA - Associazione Nazionale Alpini), and thanks to the director Mr. Andrea Rigoni and some friends with a strong passion for the mountains. Lumignano is a small and nice village, a few miles far from Vicenza (North East Italy), located under a steep and terrific rocky wall of the local hills (Colli Berici). The songs' repertory is the most typical and traditional of popular mountaneer and alpine songs, some of them related to the last two world-conflicts. Some other songs come from old and lost traditions of small mountain and country villages. The repertory (more than a hundred songs) is completed with Christmas songs, and a part of songs which are the most suitable to accompany religious ceremonies (Ave Maria, and so on). The Coro Alpino Lumignano performs on national and international locations too, and it is one of the most appreciated on its kind. It has recorded also some successful LP and CD.
